Before we go any further - I'm not claiming all bets will win, but most will and I'm not claiming you will make profit every day, but most days you will!

The easiest way to make profit on the horses is to take small wins and grow your bank over time. Thats exactly what I can show you how to do.

Everybody wants that £5 bet that returns £500 but by just looking for those bets you're going to put yourself in a situation where you're going weeks and even months without a return. I've fallen into that trap before. Believing that you can hit big bets like this multiple times a month just doesn't happen. Its like playing the lottery, it sounds great, you're sure you've got the right horses, you start thinking of ways to spend the money and then just like the lottery, you don't win.

True Value Comes From Winning
Not Odds

It took a long time for me to realise the value of winning. It doesn't come from the odds of the horses backed but from the strike rate of your bets. More winners will lead to more profits over the long term and that is the only approach I have found to make me money on a consistent basis.

I can win you lots of bets and help you grow a small bank, I know this because I've already done it.

In January I started with a £500 betting bank, and I started betting at £10 stakes.

Each return from one of my bets to these stakes will see between £5 - £20 profit

But we win a lot of bets.

Half way through February I'd double my bank:

I'd made £517.84 profit in just 48 days, and thats not betting every day.

At this point I increased my stakes to £20 and just over 2 months later by bank had grown by another £1,246.82...

That's £1,764.66 profit in just under 4 months betting.

I increase my stakes again, again by £10 to £30 and I will continue to do this every time the bank doubles, so when it goes above £4,000 I'll go to £40 and when it goes above £8,000 to £50. That would be my cap too. I don't expect to keep raising the stakes above this level.

June Update

Profits have continued to flow in May and June and the bank is now up a further £1,452.11

In just 6 months betting I've managed to make over £3,200 profit starting with just £500.

It may not seem like it but by betting £10 to win just £5 - £20 per time soon adds up, especially when you take into account the increased staking, at £30 bets at the end of June I pulled in these winners:

The profits from these bets have risen to £13.33 - £41.25 with the increased staking.

How To Win A 2 Horse Race

Obviously horse races have more than 2 runners, so I use a market offered by many bookies to make it a 2 horse race.

It doesn't matter which horse wins the race, as long a my pick of the 2 wins the other horse.

This can be espcially profitable in certain races, when we see an underperfoming horse that is matched up against 2 others we can cash in by backing both to beat it.

The key to this method is to pick the race, not the horse. There are races I find easier to predict than others, so as I go through the cards each morning I am looking for these specific races where I can easily predict the outcome. Its not about picking the winner of the race...

As I said we don't need to win the race, we could finish 10th in a 11 horse race and still win our bet as long as the horse we bet against came 11th.

Its about knowing a rough finishing order and then seeing which horses are well above the others who we can match up against.

Where Can You Place These Bets?

Most bookies will offer these type of bets but sometimes they will match up different horses, so if you want to follow my picks to the letter then I advise you get a PaddyPower account as that is who I bet with.

Most other bookies will offer the same match ups, but there could be one or two per week that you would have to skip if you weren't using the same bookie.

I make my picks late morning and send them out to members before 12 noon. This is partially because I want to get the best idea of the runners in the race (excluding any non-runners declared in the morning) and the going at the track. Its also because these markets to make it a 2 horse race do not open until later in the morning. So if you are looking to see if your bookie offers it, don't look til about midday on the day of the racing.
